The second Invitation to Tender for the Programme for Cooperation with Emerging Markets (PSOM), which was open to 49 countries around the world, from June 17th, 2008, to August 19th, 2008 and the PSOM Plus Invitation to Tender, which was open from June 25th, 2008, to August 19th, 2008, both of which were funded by the Ministry for Development Cooperation (OS), have been withdrawn with immediate effect. 25 08 2008 - Dutch Business Days is postponoed to another date of this year (November 25 -27), due to current negative situation in Georgia. Local business partners have adviced to HTS to make the trip two months later, as they say "Untill that time the current situation will be normalized and will be favorable for business trips". As a result, the organizers of DBD descided to follow to the advice and now it's changed to November 25-27, where as it was planned from the begining, the first part of the visit will be in Georgia and the second in Armenia.

20 08 2008 - DEN BOSCH - Russische bezetting of niet, Maurice Kerens opent op 16 september schuin tegenover McDonald's het kantoor van Holland Trade Support (HTS) in de Georgische hoofdstad Tblisi. 25.06.2008 - Georgië: ontwikkeling vrijhandelszone gestart. President Saakashvili van Georgië heeft het officiële startsein gegeven voor de ontwikkeling van de haven en een vrijhandelszone in Poti. De leiding van dit project is in handen van Rak Al Khaimah (RAK, een investeerder uit de Verenigde Arabische Emiraten), dat 51 procent aandeel in het geheel heeft. Het resterende deel is eigendom van de Georgische overheid. De vrijhandelszone biedt veel voordelen voor de handel en buitenlandse bedrijven. Zo zijn binnen dit gebied gevestigde bedrijven vrijgesteld van winstbelasting en kunnen goederen die in dit gebied geproduceerd worden zonder douanebelasting geëxporteerd worden. Met de geplande modernisering van de haven wordt de capaciteit behoorlijk uitgebreid en kan Poti gelden als belangrijke doorvoerhaven voor zowel Europa als Azië.
